Weird architecture in Northern Lebanon

When we were kids, we always heard about the village in Northern Lebanon that had weird looking houses. We never planned a visit, but we think the time is now. Laurence Cornet from Vice recently made a trip up there and wrote an interesting article about the village of Miziara and it's strange buildings. Read the article here.  

Beirut speaks jazz next week

You may have realized that here at BBS we love the good music, and this is an event worth mentioning. Next week local artists from various backgrounds (rock, hiphop, tarab, pop and blues...) will come together under Musichall's roof to bend some Jazzy rules. Every Saturday the farmers market “Souk El Tayeb” sets up shop in the Beirut Souks. We must say it is the best place to spend your Saturday mornings nibbling on tasty food, socializing, and checkin off your grocery list. This year “Souk El Tayeb” turns 10. A few weeks ago the Red Bull Music Academy in collaboration with Audio Kultur organized a 2 day event with musical acts from around the region. The bands and the djs came from all different musical backgrounds which was quite unusual for Beirut. It was beautiful. It was a breath of fresh air. It was a game changer. Watch the video.
