“Our Café” (Qahwetna) opened its doors in Tripoli a few days ago. First of its kind and part of MARCH‘s peacekeeping initiative, this café aims to bring together residents from once deeply rival neighborhoods of Jabal Mohsen and Bab el Tabbaneh, through art and culture. After the success of a theatrical play that the NGO put together last year, the idea was to find a place where oppressed young men and women from these battled areas could meet, interact and share a stage. It is also a source of revenu and has created jobs for some of these residents. This is a wonderful exemple of peaceful reconciliation though art. Culture over violence. Read more here.
